We Heart SMU is an event put together by Pre-Med students Eliana Abraham and Travis Harris. The event was created after they discovered a common passion for promoting heart awareness.

“I learned that heart disease is the number one killer in America,” Hilltop Scholar Abraham said. “Travis has some family who are affected by heart problems.”

The panel consists of four cardiologists who will be discussing ways to make health a main priority in students’ lives. The panelists are Drs. Amit Khera, Rim Bannout, Eduardo Sanchez, and Laura Collins.

SMU students can attend the event for free and will be able to bring in their own questions to ask the panel.

The event will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, from 6-7 p.m. in the Dedman Life Sciences building.
