Kicker Matt Szymanski booted a 61-yard field goal in SMU’s first loss of the season to Texas Tech. The shot was the longest in SMU history.

SMU v. UAB

W (28-7)

The Mustangs garnered their first win in a dominating performance over the University of Alabama at Birmingham. The SMU defense held the Blazers to just 261 total yards, the season best for the Mustangs.

SMU v. Washington State

W (35-21)

SMU beat its first BCS conference foe since 2000 with a win against Washington State. Quarterback Kyle Padron threw for four touchdowns in the game.

SMU v. TCU

L (41-24)

A sold-out crowd packed into Ford Stadium to watch the Mustangs keep pace with the Horned Frogs through three quarters, but the Mustangs could not hang on in the heartbreaking loss.

SMU v. Rice

W (42-31)

Linebacker Ja’Gared Davis returned a blocked field goal 77 yards for a touchdown in SMU’s third win of the season at Rice, putting the Mustangs at 2-0 in conference play.

SMU v. Tusa

W (21-18)

SMU’s most essential win came against Tulsa, ensuring the division title, even though both the Mustangs and the Golden Hurricanes would finish the season 6-2 in C-USA.

SMU v. Navy

L (28-21)

Receiver Darius Johnson had a season high of 12 catches in SMU’s defeat to the United States Naval Academy, falling to 4-3 on the season.

SMU v. Houston

L (45-20)

A two-hour rain delay didn’t help the Mustangs as they lost to C-USA West rival Houston. Receiver Bradley Haynes had a season high of eight catches.

SMU v. Tulane

W (31-17)

Receiver Aldrick Robinson had SMU’s game-winning touchdown reception, moving the Mustangs to 4-1 in conference play.

SMU v. UTEP

L (28-14)

Quarterback Kyle Padron threw for a season high of 28 completions in SMU’s loss to UTEP. SMU was held to its least amount of offensive yardage all season.

SMU v. Marshall

W (31-17)

Running back Zach Line rushed for 202 yards in SMU’s win over Marshall University, earning the Mustangs bowl-eligibility status for the second year in a row.

SMU v. ECU

W (45-38)

Defensive back Richard Crawford clinched the C-USA West title for the Mustangs after an overtime interception to win the game in Greenville.

SMU v. UCF

L (17-7)

Two interceptions and five sacks contributed to SMU’s 17-7 loss to C-USA East champion UCF. The Mustangs accepted an invite to the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces bowl right after the game.
