Finally, summer is around the corner. By now you have probably consumed more coffee than is medically safe and acquired too many paper cuts from flipping through a semester’s worth of flash cards.
‘Tis the season for blockbuster movies. The scariest horror films, best action movies, and biggest remakes always seem to hit the screen in the summer.
Many college students are struck with a sense of longing for adventure, or wanderlust. Instead of simply reading about places around the world, people want to go and experience these places for themselves.
Overcoming the three-week storm of research papers and final exams, the next three months will be filled with clear skies and ice cream dates.
“I cannot imagine a summer without going to camp,” SMU sophomore Ellen Scofield said. “An internship may be an awesome experience, but it can’t compare to the feelings you get from being a camp counselor. The rewards are incredible.”
