Rather than attending the usual club scene Friday night, SMU students decided to embrace the campus scene and attend Program Council’s annual Park ‘n Party. SMU students can socialize, enjoy free food, and get to know other students.
“It’s really nice to have events that the school puts together but it’s not done by adults who might not know as much about what the kids want,” said Sarah Huff, Program Council’s vice president of programming. “It’s the perfect opportunity to intermingle with other kids and just have a good night.”
The party took place at the top of Binkley parking garage where students enjoyed a view of the Dallas skyline. Students were able test their luck with casino games like Blackjack and Craps and devour tasty chicken and dessert, courtesy of Raising Cane’s and Steel City Pops. Billy the Kidd, a local Dallas disk jockey, provided the club atmosphere SMU students crave with exciting mixes, lights and heart-thumping bass.
Students of all backgrounds danced, ate and even enjoyed a little rain on the rooftop until 11 p.m. when the party finally ended.
