First Boulevard of the season

Boulevard season is upon us. Whether a student is a freshman or senior, this really is the most wonderful time of the year for all students. It is almost impossible to not hear someone on campus talking about his or her pre-boulevard jitters.

But wait… not a single mention of our football team is heard. While many students are gearing up for this pre-football tradition, how many even know what team we are playing? (Baylor is the answer by the way). C’mon, it’s the first game of the season. Where is the support for Coach Chad Morris, our newest recruits, or graduating senior players?

Sadly, the excitement for the boulevards over the football games is common for SMU students.

The team and athletic department are trying to make big strides in fixing this lack of school spirit. Coach Morris has made personal efforts by knocking on the doors of every Greek house to rally support. Hopefully, this 2015 season will bring a change in priorities for the students.
