Equestrian trots on

The SMU equestrian team loses in their last weekend match against Oklahoma State University, 7-3-2.

The Mustangs kept pace with their opponents at first, falling just short in Equitation Over Fences, 3-2. Sophomore Jordyn Pettersen tied OSU’s Ally Blais for the sixth point of the event, 78-78. Freshman Lindsay Strafuss earned her first collegiate win .

However, Equitation on the Flat tripped up the Mustangs, and they only managed to secure a single point in the event, losing 4-1 and tying for the last point. Sophomore Claire Wenholz had the only victory in the event, defeating OSU’s Sarah Brown, 76-73. SMU freshman Morgan Toal tied with OSU’s Jordan White, 73-73.

The Mustangs’ next match is not for another month. They open the home portion of their schedule on Nov. 22 against South Dakota State.
