This weekend, the SMU volleyball team will start their season in a big way. The Mustangs will play three games in two days during the SMU Invite.

The Mustangs have invited Eastern Illinois, McNeese State and Western Carolina to SMU for the four-team, round-robin tournament. During the two days, each team will play one another in six games. Each team will play one game on Friday and two games each on Saturday.

The tournament will open Friday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. with Eastern Illinois facing McNeese State. The Mustangs will open the tournament on Friday at 7 p.m. against Western Carolina.

SMU will complete their weekend with two games on Saturday. First at 1 p.m. the Mustangs will take on McNeese State followed by Eastern Illinois at 7 p.m.

Last season the Mustangs hosted the SMU Radisson Hotel Invitational and won all three games to start off a strong non-conference beginning to the season.

The Mustangs will hope to get another successful season started this weekend.
