Considered a classic among many, Mariah Carey never seems to fade around this time of the year. While stringing up lights, or cooking in the kitchen, this song is always a hit and is a reason to get up and dance.

Silver Bells– The Flaming Lips
While The Flaming Lips are famous for their quirky, pseudo-psychedelic music, their cover of Silver Bells has the classical melody of the original, while still giving their hallmark stamp on this version of the popular holiday song. While this may not be appealing to all of your guests, it is a song that will indefinitely spice up the mix.

This theatrical song is one that is versatile for any occasion. it has also been named as a top holiday song on many lists and continues to remind people of the spirit of the season.

Purple Snowflakes– Marvin Gaye
A break from the traditional Christmas themed music, Marvin Gaye presents a beautiful winter love story in his song Purple Snowflakes, as the sound of jingle bells keep rhythm in the background. This song is sure to brighten up any drive home on a cold winter day.

Happy Xmas (War is Over)-John Lennon
To top off any holiday playlist, John Lennon and Yoko Ono bring the warmth with this song. Recorded as a single in 1971, along with the Harlem Community Choir, Happy Xmas (War is Over) continues to have staying power, and is the product of peace activism on behalf of Lennon and Ono.
