Food from Galilee, located in Snider Plaza, should be everybody’s go to Mediterranean restaurant. The small restaurant offers fresh and light Mediterranean food at a reasonable price.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is best described as quaint. There’s nothing fancy about it. It’s just great food served by a nice and warm staff.

A must try is the falafel platter. If you don’t know what falafels are, you are missing out! Falafels, for those still in the dark, are deep-fried patties made from ground chickpeas, fava beans or sometimes both.

At Food From Galilee, the falafels are perfect. They are crisp, flavorful and most importantly light. It’s really hard to eat something deep-fried and call it light, but honestly after finishing this entree, there will be no desire to go into a food coma. For under $10, you get eight crispy falafels, fresh tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, pita bread, tahini sauce and a choice of salad or soup.

One thing that can make or break a Mediterranean restaurant is the quality of its pita bread. At Food from Galilee, the pita bread is thin, light and flavorful. Order hummus or baba ghannouj (eggplant dip) to enjoy with the pita bread. The baba ghannouj is some of the best in Dallas and a must try for eggplant lovers.

For lunchtime, the sandwiches are the way to go. From amazing gyros to beef and chicken shwarma sandwiches, everything is fresh and filling. The meat in the sandwiches is more flavorful than most Mediterranean restaurants.

The restaurant is BYOB with no corkage fee, so you don’t have to spend a lot of money on drinks.

The only downside of this restaurant is that the service is sometimes slow, but it suits the casual and family-like atmosphere.

For delicious food that will leave you with a full belly and a happy wallet, Food from Galilee is a must go.
