A banner of Lynn Gordon “Gordie” Bailey, Jr., hangs outside of Fondren Library Wednesday afternoon as part of the Gordie Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness about binge drinking. The Gordie Foundation was founded in 2004 after Bailey died from acute alcohol poisoning while with fraternity brothers. Yesterday the foundation hosted its first National GORDIEday to encourage students to make responsible decisions and call for help when intoxicated friends are in need.
