DC readers,

Welcome back for the Spring semester, and we’re glad you picked up a copy of today’s Daily Campus. I’m sure you’ve noticed a few changes we’ve made already, from the new flag on the front page to new layout and fonts.

I’m most excited to announce our renovation of the Sports page. Our staff spent a lot of time discussing what improvements needed to be made to make the section as enjoyable and informative as possible. We’ve drawn inspiration from newspapers, both collegiate and professional, across the country, and you’re now looking at the result.

Here are a few things that we’ve added:

• The most obvious change that you’ll notice is the addition of the DC Sideline. Here, you’ll find schedules, standings and brief stories, both for SMU’s teams and for professional teams in Dallas.

• Attached to game stories will be info boxes, which will include both individual and team statistics for each game. You won’t have to dig through the story to see how many points Bamba Fall scored or how many passes Bo Levi Mitchell completed. All the statistical information will be included separately in the stat box.

• Finally, we’re happy to announce a new partnership with the SMU Daily Mustang, which will allow us to provide video content online. Expect to hear more about this in the coming weeks.

Just like in sports, when high expectations are created, they need to be met. We are dedicated to making DC Sports one of the best collegiate Sports sections in the country, and we hope that you will help us get there.
