Student section expanded at Ford

In response to the overwhelming attendance at last Tuesday’s football game against UAB, the SMU athletic department announced they will open up seats near the 50-yard line for students to sit in.

Associate Athletic Director for Media Relations Brad Sutton said per Conference USA rules, the first fifteen rows of sections 123 and 124 will be reserved for season ticket holders, but the remaining rows would be open to students who want to sit closer to the middle of the field.

Sutton said the athletic department was impressed with the turnout at the last home game that it wants to encourage students to continue coming to games. He added he hopes students who attend this weekend’s homecoming game will stay for the whole game, not just until the homecoming court is announced.
