The other day I was cruising the sales in North Park, making my rounds from Barneys to Neiman’s and up to Nordstrom, and I found that in the short time I had been gone that a good number of stores had opened.
Such events peaked my interest, as an avid collector of all things fashionable. I realized due to the flooding of the North Dallas market with high-end apparel that this could be one of the best sales I’ve ever had the privilege to experience.
I strongly encourage everyone to make the trip to find the goodies to be had before they are gone.
If you haven’t noticed, over the last year or so the landscape of fashion in Dallas has changed significantly, and, might I say, for the better.
For decades Dallas has been synonymous with names such as Neiman Marcus and J.C. Penney, but as the times change so do our tastes.
Recently several fantastic boutiques have opened their doors in the newly expanded North Park Center. In March, a handful of selected stores (both new and old) will showcase their wares in what promises to be the social event of the year: “Fashion at the Park,” presented by Cadillac.
Within the 15,000 foot luxury tent complex will be the Show Tent; the Samsung Fashion Lounge, featuring a bar to serve Belvedere and Moet; and the Cadillac Court displaying the their latest models.
One would think that such an event would only be obtainable to the social elite, but nay. Tickets can be purchased for as little as $25. The H-shaped runway will boast 500 reserved seats, 216 of which are in the front row.
With a schedule to rival that of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, this event will not only give a preview of what is to come, but it will also attract much of the metropolis’s socialites.
For those who can afford it (or just have an obsession with fashion), “Ãber Fashion Passes” will be available. At $1,500 a pop, the pass offers front row seating to all shows, VIP swag bags, in-and-out valet parking, and $250 in North Park Gold, among other treats.
For four days, the motor court between Nordstrom and Macy’s will be transformed into the backdrop for “Fashion at the Park.”
Overall, “Fashion at the Park” (from March 7-10) seems to serve anything and everything one could possibly want on a silver platter with a glass of champagne.
Whether you dream of fanciful couture fashion shows in Milan or just want a chance to shop the shows, this event is tailor made for you.
In all my time in Dallas, I would have never thought that we would be the host to such a spectacle.
Now that I am aware of the exciting happenings of North Park, I don’t know if I will be able to wait to get my hands on some of those tickets. When someone comes up to me and casually mentions how phenomenal one of the shows was, I will most definitely reply, “I know, right?”
