Al Pacino’s ‘Scarface’ celebrates anniversary

Everybody knows Tony Montana, and if you didn’t, you atleast knew his catchphrase, “Say hello to my littlefriend.”

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Al Pacino’s famousportrayal of the Cuban drug lord, and Universal Home Video isreleasing the feature in a boxed DVD set. The DVDs will containdeleted scenes, “The Rebirth of Scarface,” and”Acting and Creating Scarface” vignettes.

The deluxe gift set includes the aforementioned items but alsoincludes the original 1932 version on DVD, a replica of TonyMontana’s gold monogrammed money clip and a set of lobbycards.

According to the Assoiciated Press, “the DVD, which willbe released Sept. 30, will include new bonus features, including a20-minute documentary about the film’s influence on hip-hopculture and music, featuring P. Diddy, Snoop Dog and the rapperScarface.”

Also featured is the CD, Def Jam Recordings Presents: Origins ofa Hip Hop Classic. Scarface has been around almost as long as hiphop and rappers from every decade idolized Tony Montana.

The film will return to theaters in on Sept. 19 in only 10cities and Dallas is among them.
