It’s just the second week of school, and we’re already getting a three-day weekend. Nice.
The last big celebration of the summer is here with Labor Day weekend.
For most Texans, that means firing up the grill, heading down to the lake house, a grand display of fireworks and for the ladies, wearing white for the last time!
Many SMU students will head home or go on vacation for the holiday, but those of us stuck in Dallas want to have fun, too.
Here are a few events to insure that you have a great Labor Day weekend, in and around Dallas.
Come celebrate Labor Day weekend with the Texas Rangers.
Head over to the Ballpark in Arlington this Friday as the boys take on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05. All fans are invited to stick around for a fireworks show immediately following the game.
Are you ready for a night of country dancing and bull riding? If so, then head over to Billy Bob’s Texas Friday night and help them celebrate the era of urban cowboys.
Country music artist Jack Ingram will be performing on the main stage at 10:30 p.m.
Whole Foods Market on Greenville Avenue wants to help you celebrate Labor Day this Saturday. They’ll be offering free samples off their grill from noon to 3 p.m.

Feeling like a more traditional Labor Day Weekend? Grab some friends, hop in the car and head for the West. West, Texas, that is.
Westfest is the 26th annual Czech heritage celebration that attracts more than 40,000 people annually.
The festival features many games, carnival rides and skill tournaments.
