VIDEO: MSA’s celebrate last days of Ramadan

Muslim Student Associate (MSA) hosted their first event of the school year Aug. 22.

The iftar produced a large turnout of both Muslim and non-Muslim students. Events included breaking fast with dates, praying maghrib, dinner, and sponsored talks.

“The last ten nights of Ramadan are very near and dear to Muslim’s hearts,” MSA President Khurram Taufiq, explained.

Last night’s talk focused on charity because it is an integral part of Islamic faith.

“We’re here to break our daily fast for Ramadan,” Tareen Rahman remarked.

Ankita Krishnan, a junior French and psychology major, attended the MSA event to support her friends.

“I have a lot of friends [in MSA] who are involved so I wanted to come,” Krishnan remarked.
