VIDEO: Bar workout reduces body fat, elongates muscles

There are many different ways to get a good workout. Some people like to walk. Others like to cycle. And others prefer stair master and elliptical machines. There is one method of working out that has grown tremendously over the years, but that not everyone is aware of.

It is called the bar workout and The Bar Method is one of the leading franchises in this style of workout.

“You’re burning your muscles to complete exhaustion and then we lengthen them out. We work your biceps and your triceps and your quads and your seat and your abs throughout class,” said Lisa Hennings, owner of The Bar Method Dallas-Park Cities.

It is an intense, full-body workout that reduces body fat, improves posture, increases stamina, and firms and elongates muscles.

“It allows you to make modifications if you have injuries and it really covers the full spectrum of ages. I have been doing it for about a year. And the results have been great,” said class participant Nora Gay.

The one-hour class is often viewed as more challenging than Pilates with elements of yoga throughout.

“A lot of our clients actually come between three and six times a week and so that just goes to show how everyone becomes almost addicted to Bar Method. The results are amazing and they shrink right before our eyes,” said receptionist Nicole Bulcher.

Although there are other franchises that utilize the bar workout, it is The Bar Method that coins the phrase “the most targeted body sculpting workout.”

The Bar Method has about 50 studios across the U.S. with several scheduled to open in the near future.
