A felony warrant has been issued for the arrest of a former SMU student according to an email sent to students this afternoon.
The arrest warrant is for Robert James Young for, “allegedly punching and obstructing the breathing of a female student with whom he was acquainted.”
The alleged incident occurred at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 5 in the female student’s room in the Loyd Residential Commons.
The accused is described as, “a white male, about 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 190 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes, and he is 22 years old.”
Anyone who sees Young is advised to contact the SMU police department immediately by calling 911 or 214-768-3333.
