The Brown Bag series presented a program to help people assert themselves in and out of the workplace yesterday.
Saliha Afridi, M.A., spoke to a group in the Health Center about how to assert oneself without becoming too aggressive.
“I’ve had clients, students and faculty that have asked for training on how to assert themselves,” said Afridi. “That’s why I wanted to do this program.”
Afridi believes that assertion is best practiced when the rights and feelings of all parties involved are considered. The most positive solution is always one in which everyone wins.
The Brown Bag series has been at SMU for 26 years this spring.
