The National Soccer Hall of Fame opens in Frisco at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, Oct 20, relocating from Oneonta, New York.
The 2018 Hall of Fame weekend will commence with the 2018 Enshrinement Ceremony where the newest members of the Hall of Fame will join the ranks of soccer’s elite.
It’s grand relocation to Frisco, TX will consist of many new induction ceremonies, including that of Don Garber, the current Commissioner of Major League Soccer. Following the ceremonies, Imagine Dragons will perform in the venue.
The new facility will unveil many interactive features that allow visitors to test their soccer skills and knowledge. It uses cutting-edge technology such as virtual reality.
On Sunday, Oct 21, FC Dallas will play against Sporting Kansas City in the 50th anniversary match of the North American Soccer League.
“Not only will this be a technology-driven experience that honors the men and women who made U.S. soccer what it is today, the National Soccer Hall of Fame will also provide outstanding educational opportunities for students across Dallas/Fort Worth,” FC Dallas president Dan Hunt said in a press statement. “The clubs and new seats are gamechangers that will offer unparalleled views for all guests who visit Toyota Stadium for games, concerts or any other special event.”
