UPDATE: SMU has canceled classes and activities Wednesday due to the ice storm. This is the second day the university has shut down.
On Wednesday, the winter storm warning in Dallas was extended until Thursday at 6 a.m.
An SMU Aware announcement stated that the Arnold and Umphrey Lee Dining Halls will remain open Wednesday, and Dedman Center and Fondren Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
SMU PD tweeted Tuesday afternoon reminding students that they have staff on campus 24/7. If students need assistance or are experiencing an emergency, they should call SMU PD at 214-768-3388.

SMU has canceled classes and activities for Tuesday due to winter weather.
An announcement sent out by SMU aware said that the Umphrey Lee and Arnold Dining Halls will remain open and Fondren Library and Dedman Center will be open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Monday afternoon, SMU sent out an alert that all Monday classes and activities after 5 p.m. were canceled.
SMU announced Tuesday’s cancellations early Monday evening.
Dallas is currently under a winter storm warning, with mixed precipitation continuing through 3 p.m. Tuesday with significant icing possible.
More winter weather is expected Wednesday.
Student Senate said students should reach out to Dr. Page Ware in the Office of the Provost if a professor is still holding classes.
