Banh Shop opens on SMU Blvd

By Maria Padgett Valladares

SMU Blvd welcomes new restaurant- Banh mi Shop. Banh Shop follows Saigon street food style, presenting a menu full of bold Vietnamese and South East Asian flavors.

The menu’s focus belongs to the Banh Mi sandwich, a traditional Vietnamese “street sandwich” that combines the softness of a French baguette along with the delicious intensity of Vietnamese taste. Banh Shop offers eight different Banh Mi sandwiches ranging from Grilled Steakand Coconut Chicken Breast to grilled Tofu and a more traditional American Bahn Mi.

Now, if sandwiches are not your cup of tea, Banh Shop also features Southeast Asian salads, soups and wok-fired bowls that will make your palate delighted. Some of their signature items include the “Banh Fire” Wok’d Bowl, Traditional Vietnamese Noodle Salad and the Saigon “Street Stall” Corn Cup. Beverages are not left behind in the taste abundance Banh Shop offers. If you feel like drinking something refreshing, their ginger margarita and green tea will not let you down. If you want something to wake your senses, their cold coffee will be perfect for you.

Banh Shop does a great job with their food and their prices are even better. The entire menu ranges from very good sides starting in $2.00 and full plates from $5.95 to $8.50. So always keep Banh Shop in mind when you want to enjoy a tasteful, well-served plate!
