Burdened by injuries, the Mustangs fell to Central Florida 52-37 Saturday morning in Orlando, Florida. This loss was SMU’s lowest-scoring game since 2012.
Both teams struggled to put points on the board throughout the whole game. SMU fell nine points behind in the first half and couldn’t find enough points to overcome the UCF lead. Both teams recorded more turnovers than made field goals in the first half.
Ben Emelogu II led scoring for the Mustangs with 12 points, followed by Jahmal McMurray with 7 points. Jimmy Whitt led the Mustangs with 11 rebounds.
Next up, the Mustangs travel to play ECU on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
