On Thursday Oct. 18, Rep. Beto O’Rourke will take part in an hour-long town hall in McAllen, hosted by CNN’s Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash, without his Republican opponent, Sen. Ted Cruz.
Cruz has recently declined the opportunity to participate in this nationally broadcasted town hall, after initially accepting the offer.
The town hall will be part of a series, as CNN hopes to shed light on the consequential races across the country. The Texas Senate race is one of the most closely watched elections this year.
As of right now, the race is neck and neck, with Cruz leading by only six points in a new poll, despite running in a deeply red state.
