Philanthropist Dr. Catrina Pullum will give a presentation for “Telling Our Stories: Women of Color and the Power of Narratives” on Feb. 21, 2019, at 5:15 p.m. in the third floor reading room of the Annette Caldwell Simmons Building.
The event is organized by the Dedman Interdisciplinary Institution and the Women of Color Collective. The latter is an organization that gives women of color the opportunity to tell their stories through presentations and discussions throughout the year.
“I’m looking forward to seeing her speak on campus because I think it’s important to be culturally intelligent and the presentation will help me become more socially aware,” freshman Samantha Record said. “I think it’s important that as a woman I recognize that all women are different and come from different backgrounds.”
Pullum’s professional accomplishments include: President of Catrina & Co., Executive Officer of PullCorp Media and Business Consulting Group, Executive Producer at Puissance Maison Productions, International Director at Full Gospel Baptist Fellowship, and Regional Director of Yes Lord Radio. In addition, she has written an autobiography titled “Breaking the Chains: From Hurting to Healing.”
