Armstrong Residential Commons is celebrating the Lunar New Year with their fourth annual Lantern Festival on Friday, Feb. 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Chinese Student Association joins Armstrong Commons to co-host this event. Participants will celebrate the Lunar New Year by making lanterns, playing ping-pong, watching movies and enjoying food.
Armstrong Commons Resident Assistant Cristina Mauldin attended last year’s successful Lantern Festival and looks forward to an even better experience this year.
“The most fun part of Lantern Festival last year was karaoke. We made it clear that it was for fun, and we got a great mix of performances from people,” Mauldin said. “This year we actually bought a brand new karaoke machine, so I’m excited to make it even better.”
This free event is available to the entire SMU community. It will take place throughout the Armstrong Commons building, including the game room, classroom and lobby.
