Experiencing fear first hand

Halloween is creeping around the corner and the frights of October are out. Scaring their way to the top, Dallas’ haunted houses are giving fear seekers something to scream about.

The Boneyard, located in the heart of the metroplex, is one haunted house that will have you revisiting some of your worst nightmares.

The combination of blood-and-guts scare tactics and high tech animatronics set the scene for a night of fright.

The Boneyard features almost 50 high tech sets that are on par with some of Hollywood’s top slasher film scenes. Jason and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre make an appearance which may make attendees scream for their mother.

Walking through pitch black darkness and maneuvering through the rows of blood-stained sheets takes thrill-seekers through a haunt over half a mile long. In 2006, the Boneyard was submitted into the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest walk through haunted house in the world.

In 2011, the haunted house debuted with roughly 260,000 square feet and this year is no exception. It can take more than 30 minutes to get through.

Keeping your eyes open maybe difficult, but if you can the scares will have you begging for more.

The sets and costume designs may even inspire Halloween ideas.

Those who survive the Boneyard can de-shock and enjoy Halloween inspired fun in the game room and cold drinks in the VooDoo Lounge.

Based in Arlington, Texas The Boneyard is open every weekend, from Friday through Sunday, through October 31.

The week of Oct. 24 to Oct. 31 the Boneyard is open all week long.

On Fridays and Saturdays doors are open from 7 p.m. until midnight. Weekdays and Sundays doors are open from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

The Boneyard is not recommended for small children.

General Admission $25. VIP FastPass $35. The Boneyard website http://www.theboneyard.org.
