The Lady Mustangs stand undefeated in the WAC after beatingopponents on the road.
The team defeated Boise State 3-0 Saturday afternoon.
Game one was close with the Lady Broncos scoring 26 points toSMU’s 30. Game two went to the Mustangs again with a 30-21win. By game three, the Ponies held the Broncos to 18 points.
The win against Boise brings the Mustangs to a 2-0 record inconference play and 10-4 overall.
Sophomore Kelly Larkan posted a double-double with 10 kills and11 digs.
“This win brings us halfway to our team goal of winning20,” Larkan said. “We are on a five-game win streakright now. That’s because everyone is stepping up and playingto their ability.”
Sophomore Jessica Mihm picked up 13 digs against the LadyBroncos.
“We’re doing the things we’ve always known wecould do. Our coaches are so awesome — they’re sohelpful. They know what they’re talking about, andwe’re friends with them, yet we respect them,” Mihmsaid. “I think this is really coming into play rightnow”
WAC action opened last Thursday when SMU decisively beat UTEP inEl Paso. The Ponies trampled the Miners with 30-22, 30-20 and 30-28victories.
Jacky Neiderstadt recorded a double-double match by driving in20 kills and posting 11 digs for the win. Teammates Beth Karasekand Jenette Evanko picked up 16 and 12 digs, respectively.
The Mustangs return to Moody Coliseum for a four-match homestand. They play UNT at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
