Ed Board supports the Stop Global Warming College Tour.
It’s nice when organizations reach out to college students and get them involved in helping the world.
It’s even nicer when stars like Sheryl Crow join them.
In case you missed the memo – Sheryl Crow and Laurie David (wife of actor and comedian Larry David of HBO’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm”) will be here Monday to kick off the Stop Global Warming College Tour.
Ed Board is excited because SMU is the first stop of the tour – it’s too bad we no longer have an environmental committee to show off all the good things this campus is doing to improve the environment.
David and her husband are huge proponents of environmental friendly organizations. In fact, Larry David drives a hybrid vehicle.
It’s a chance for students to get off their butts and do something; seeing as the student body is primarily apathetic when it comes to important issues such as voting, helping the poor, volunteering or recycling.
We all love driving our gas guzzling, souped up Tahoes and pickup trucks, but how practical are they for college students? Think about it – we like to take road trips and its not like we have to lug around an entire little league team just yet.
Perhaps the presence of Crow and David will inspire the campus to take a stand against global warming. Maybe we’ll start seeing students driving hybrid Lexus vehicles rather than regular Lexus SUVs.
Honestly, there is a lot of money floating around this campus, let’s put some of it to good use.
Ed Board urges the student body to attend the Stop Global Warming College Tour Monday – listen to what David and Crow have to say and show the world we care about the environment.
For starters – when you’re finished reading this Daily Campus place it in one of the many recycling bins on campus.
