Beto holds his own: Leads Texas by 79 votes

Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke lives up to the hype and leads against Republican incumbent Ted Cruz by 79 votes according to CNN as of 8:25 p.m.

O’Rourke won his hometown El Paso.

Daily Campus reporters Hannah Miller and Sriya Reddy is at Colin Allred’s Dallas event tonight. Allred leads the 32nd congressional district by 5.2 percent against incumbent Pete Sessions, according to CNN.

Texas 4th congressional district went to GOP candidate John Ratcliffe, according to Politico. Politico calls the 7th congressional district a “toss-up.”

Seventy percent of Texas’ votes are in. Polls have closed.
