UPDATE: on June 1, 11:09 p.m.: The creator of the fliers, Emily Walker, is facing punishment from SMU, WFAA reports.
Walker says she faced a months-long investigation that resulted in disciplinary probation, “one of the hardest punishments you can get on SMU,” she told the TV station.
According to Walker, the university believed her fliers contributed to a hostile campus environment.
SMU would not comment on the case to WFAA, and has not yet responded to The Daily Campus for comment.
UPDATE: on Nov. 18, 3:45 p.m.: The author of fliers titled “Why White women should date Black men” has identified herself as Emily Walker, SMU student athletic trainer.
She says that her intentions behind making the fliers are completely positive.
“Not only did I want to boost the confidence of our Black student population but also of our sports program,” Walker said. “You don’t want a depressed athlete going out on the field or out on the court, you want them to feel like this is [their] school that [they] are representing.”
Walker aimed to lift the spirits of the students targeted by the original fliers.
“I fashioned it in a way that wouldn’t just be educational but be comical,” Walker said. “This was for all the Black men and women on campus who were done wrong.”
ORIGINAL on Nov. 17 3:37 p.m.: Fliers titled “Why White women should date Black men” were found by senior Mollie Mayfield in the Meadows School of the Arts restrooms on Nov. 17. These fliers come as a response to the anti-Black fliers found on campus earlier this week.

According to the fliers, black men “do not commit mass murders, are more likely to sexually satisfy all women, and mixed children are less likely to carry deforming traits.”
The fliers were written by an “educated pre-med white female student” with initials E.W.
