Spring 2008 university-wide enrollment increased 0.29 percent overall from Spring 2007.
The Spring 2008 reports were fully released on Monday and contain statistics on enrollment, GPAs, retention rates and credit hours. The enrollment statistics were further broken down into classes, majors, course levels, schools within the university, ethnicity and religious affiliation.
Enrollment statistics were based on 12 credit hours for undergraduates, 10 credit hours for the JD Program within the law school, and nine credit hours for all other graduate programs. This year’s reports included census data from the Guildhall, which was not included in Spring 2007.
Total university enrollment was 10,507, with 7,588 full-time students and 2,919 part-time students. Spring 2007 enrollment totaled 10,477.
Total undergraduate enrollment was 5,822, with 5,470 full-time students and 352 part-time students. There was a 2.3 percent decrease in undergraduate enrollment from Spring 2007, which was 5,962.
Total graduate enrollment was 3,447, with 1,089 full-time graduate students and 2,358 part-time graduate students. There was a 4.2 percent increase in graduate enrollment from Spring 2007, which was 3,307.
Total professional program enrollment was 1,238, with 1,029 full-time students and 209 part-time students. There was a 2.5 percent increase in professional enrollment from Spring 2007, which was 1,208.
The total average GPA was 3.108, with first years averaging 3.014, sophomores averaging 3.095, juniors averaging 3.122 and seniors averaging 3.214.
