Deep Ellum received quite the caffeine jolt on Saturday.
Coffee fanatics from all over the Metroplex gathered at Life in Deep Ellum for Dallas Coffee Collective’s third annual Dallas Coffee Day.
Dallas Coffee Day started as an event three years ago when organizers hoped to get at least 50 attendees, according to organizer Zac Cadwalader.
For the first time ever, Dallas Coffee Collective held two sessions this year to accommodate the crowds. However, not even multiple sessions could handle the ticket demand. On the day of the event, many were still searching for last-minute tickets to the sold-out event on Facebook.

The morning and afternoon sessions lasted three hours and hosted approximately 500 participants each. Attendees were treated to tote bags and mugs for the tastings, which included everything from exotic blends to mocktails to cold brews.
Roasters this year included Ascension, Avoca, Cultivar, Edison, Eiland, Noble Coyote, Novel, Oak Cliff, Tweed, West Oak, Handground and Texas Coffee School.

These roasters are not only Dallas-based, but also from surrounding cities such as Richardson and Denton.
Participants also viewed cuppings, latte art and an espresso bar. They enjoyed tacos from Oak Cliff’s Trompo.
