SMU Police took an individual into custody this afternoon in connection with two assaults that occurred in Umphrey Lee Dining Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 16, according to SMU Aware.
An SMU student reported being assaulted on two separate occasions, both while waiting in line at Umphrey Lee Dining Hall, when an unknown individual allegedly touched them inappropriately.
The first incident happened around 1:45 p.m. and the second occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, an advisory alert email stated.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 35–40 years old, wearing a dark shirt, gray vest and a ball cap.
An SMU student, who asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons, told The Daily Campus they reported the suspect to SMU PD after recognizing him from a class.
