The SMU men’s basketball team brought home a victory after defeating Southeast Missouri on the road Monday night.

Senior Robert Nyakundi led the Mustangs with a career-high 29 points with London Giles not far behind with a total 24 points.

With the Monday night victory, SMU has completed a four-game winning streak to establish a 6-4 record.

Despite holding a 33-31 lead over the Mustangs in the final minutes of the first half, SEMO was unable to hold back SMU as they went on a 7-0 run to close the half with the lead.

The Mustang stampede continued to dominate during the second half to rack up the win.

Overall SMU forced SEMO to give up 16 turnovers and outrebounded the Redhawks 38-32.

Returning to Moody Coliseum on Dec. 22, the Mustangs will fight to continue on their winning streak against Dallas Christian at 7 p.m.
