After finishing 13th of 13 teams in the UCF Challenge, the Mustangs looked for a better result in the Betsy Rawls Invitational last weekend.
And that’s what they got. With two golfers finishing in the top 10, the Mustangs finished tied for fifth out of 15 teams.
Lacy Jones finished tied for eighth place with a score of eight over par 224. Kate Ackerson was the top SMU finisher, placing fifth with a six over par 222.
Kristina Rothengatter finished 42nd, Sarah Dodson finished tied for 61st and Ashley Deatherage finished in 76th.
The Mustangs had to compete without two contributing seniors. Both Jennifer Ackerson and Laura Cross are still unable to compete.
SMU will return to action April 8 in Norman, Okla. The Mustangs will join Oklahoma in the Susie Maxwell Berning Classic.
