The SMU men’s soccer team came in at No. 23 on the National Soccer Coaches Association of America NCAA Division I Men’s National Poll this week.
The selection came on the heels of a 2-0 opening weekend to start the season. The Mustangs defeated non-conference opponents Sacramento State and University of Illinois Chicago. Junior Stanton Garcia had two goals, giving him the American Athletic Conference lead in the early-going. He was named to the American Weekly Honors Honor Roll for his performance.
SMU will play again this week on a road two-game road trip to Boston, Massachusetts. They will take on Boston College on Friday and Harvard on Sunday.
