Jeremy Harris, 31, was arrested for the murder of SMU student Robert “Jaden” Urrea, 19, late Friday afternoon according to Dallas Police. Urrea was a first-year student who was shot in downtown Dallas early morning on Oct. 31.

“We are grateful for the arrest of a suspect in the murder of our student, Jaden Urrea,” Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. K.C. Mmeje wrote in a statement Friday night. “While nothing can ease the pain felt by his family and friends, we sincerely hope the successful prosecution and conviction of Jaden’s killer will allow them to find peace.”
Harris’s arrest warrant states that he has been connected to two other murders in Dallas and one in Celina, Texas within the past month. Dallas police linked a gun found in Harris’s possession as well as his black Chevy SUV to the murders based on video surveillance footage and other circumstantial evidence, according to police records.

Harris was arrested by Celina Police on charges of murder on Tuesday, Nov. 17 and currently faces a bail amount of $250,000, according to Dallas police records.
