SMU Relay For Life is an annual event sponsored by Panhellenic for the American Cancer Society in which SMU joins communities across the nation to honor cancer survivors, pay tribute to those who lost their lives to the disease, and raise money to fund cancer research.
“As a cancer survivor, it’s great to see the SMU community come together to support the fight against cancer,” recruitment co-chair Diana Garcia said. “We encourage people to apply, become involved, and take a lead role.”
Applicants that like being in charge of counting money and banking, may be interested in the accounting and registration position. Also, the publicity position, in charge of advertising the event across campus, is perfect for advertising and marketing majors who want to get some hands on practice before they begin their professional careers.
If you are interested in this opportunity, sign up online at smurelay.com. The application to become a 2008 board member is due Sept. 13 and interviews will then be held the following day.
