University issues crime alert for sexual assault

SMU PD has issued a criminal trespass warning and begun an investigation, after a student reported that a male she knew sexually assaulted her in Hawk Hall.

Police have identified the suspect, who is not affiliated with SMU. Due to the criminal trespass warning, he is not allowed on campus. Criminal charges are pending the investigation.

The woman reported to police that the sexual assault took place in her residence hall early Monday morning. She described the suspect as 25 years old, 185 pounds and 6 feet tall with brown eyes and hair.
